9-9-09 around 9ish
I WILL NEVER FORGET.....9-9-09 sometime around 9 AM on my EXACT due date, my second daughter Sydney came busting into the world. No meds, no epidural, a couple pushes and she was here!
She rarely cried for the first year of her life. No seriously, I used to put my finger under her nose to make sure she was alive because that’s how quiet she was. (Boy do I miss those times!!) Those wide eyes were always watching though.
She literally crawled for about 2 days and got up and started walking the next. It was like she said, forget this....let me go head on and get where I’m going. I kid you not! Shocked the heck outta me!
I’ve never met anybody so precise and calculated in my entire life, somebody who knows who they are at such a young age. Oh she’s special and tough in a spiritual sorta way!
At around 4 or 5 years old, she told me that she wanted to be a “cooker.” I said oh, you mean “chef.” She promptly corrected me by saying "I want to be a cooker." No matter what type of terminology I wanted to put on it, she knew EXACTLY what she meant. Nevertheless, she’s been in the kitchen ever sense.
I asked her what 11 felt like and she said, "I feel exactly the same."I told her that 11 looks like an equal sign to me. Puzzled and not knowing exactly what I meant by that, I'm convinced that one day she'll understand.....her little life will equal whatever she wants it to be.
So....Here’s to you kid...I know that I am just a conduit to something way bigger in this child but I’m grateful that she calls me mom. Thank you God for trusting me with this one. I’m gonna make sure that I do my part in helping her to become exactly who she was called to be! Hope this trip around the sun was everything her little soul needed it to be.
